Brothers: a threading duet by Justin de Jager and Sam Deliveyne

Discover the power of brotherhood in theater! With the passionate company Threading Theatre, Justin de Jager, Sem Deliveyne, and Andreas Tegnander bring Brothers to life. Inspired by their close bond and experience as younger brothers, they take you on an emotional journey of support, competition, intimacy, and collaboration.

About Brothers
At its core, Brothers showcases the brotherly collaborative bond between Justin de Jager and Sem Deliveyne. They literally met in a ‘threading cypher’ and were blown away by each other’s expertise within the concept. Brothers originated during the Here We Live And Now program at Korzo in The Hague. What started as a 20-minute version quickly grew into a larger project with Justin and Sem as the driving forces. The duo felt a deep calling to further develop Brothers into a full-length location performance.

“Brothers doesn’t just feel like a piece to me but a potential life’s work in the making. The potential behind the work is endless” – Justin de Jager.

Who is Justin de Jager?
Justin de Jager is known for his expertise in the movement concept of threading. As a breaker, he discovered this complex movement language, which he has been using as the basis for his choreographic work since 2017. As a creator, Justin has choreographed for companies such as Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and Sally Dansgezelschap Maastricht and has collaborated with theater houses like DOX, Korzo, and Sample Culture. His talent was recognized with the Leo Spreksel Award in 2021. In 2023, Justin founded the collective Threading Theatre. Some of Justin’s notable works include Carried Alive, What Is Love, Through, Intertwine, And The Rest Is Noise in collaboration with Fractal Collective, and his most recent creation Brothers.
